London Sustainability Exchange: The LSx website contains regular news updates, email bulletins and success stories and disseminates the knowledge, resources and tools to make London a more sustainable city, as well providing information on ground-breaking projects such as 'Motivate London'.
The Community Renewables Initiative: Aims to help groups and individuals realise that renewable energy can form part of the regeneration of places — from remote rural areas to market towns, farmed landscapes to villages, and even cities and their edges.
Green Streets: Helps housing associations and local authorities improve the environmental performance of their homes, through detailed information and advice on energy and water efficiency, material use, waste reduction, health and wellbeing, and residents’ lifestyle.
AWARENESS
The Energy Savings: Trust One of the UK's leading organisations addressing the damaging effects of climate change.
The Green Register Aims to raise awareness of sustainable building issues across all sectors of the construction industry, provide a pre-selected list of construction professionals for potential clients, deliver a wide range of training events and provide national, regional and local forums for networking between professionals. Sustainable Homes: promotes awareness of sustainable development issues and good practice, and encourages housing associations to adopt sustainable policies and practices.
London 21 Sustainability Network: Promotes, supports and networks community-based action for sustainability in Greater London.
EUROPEAN PROJECTS
Optimum2 A European project that aims to improve the accessibility of busy locations in urban areas.
REST A unique energy saving campaign running in six European countries for energy conscious hotel managers. The REST campaign will support leading hotels in their efforts to save energy and use renewable energy.
FOOD
The UK Organic Directory: Dedicated to bringing you all the information you need to shop around for great organic food, wine, clothes and other products.
SCHEMES
Association for the Conservation of Energy: ACE aims to establish sensible and consistent national energy saving policies and programmes, and to increase investment in all appropriate energy saving measures.
The Carbon Trust: Set up by the Government with support from the business community, to work with business and the public sector to help them to move on to a low carbon future and exploit the commercial opportunities that this presents.
Clear Skies Initiative: This £10 million Initiative aims to give homeowners and communities a chance to become more familiar with renewable energy by providing grants and advice.
The New Opportunities Fund: A Lottery Distributor created to award grants to education, health and environment projects throughout the UK.
The Funding Network: The Funding Network brings people together to act as a ‘marketplace’ to which individuals can bring projects which work towards a fairer, healthier, and more sustainable world.
TRANSPORT
Transport for London The integrated body responsible for the capital's transport system, its role is to implement the Mayor's Transport Strategy for London and manage the transport services across the capital for which the Mayor has responsibility.
Transportenergy: Offers up to five days of free on-site advice to help you develop a travel plan for your workplace or tourism/leisure venue. Please note that this service is only available in England.
Drivelectric: Specialises in providing consulting, product-supply and user-support to organisations interested in electric and low-emission vehicles.
